Title: Advanced Passenger Information
Post by Debbie on Jul 5th, 2007 at 11:06am
We haven't flown over to Spain since they have bought in the new Advanced Passenger Information system.
Can anyone tell me what difference it has made?  I know that if you fly you can fill out the information either at the check in desk or on line but we are driving down in August and I am interested to know if there is going to be a huge queue at the French/Spanish border while they collate this information.

No idea about airports but I don't think this measure applies to land borders. The following site only mentions air travel:

Debbie,we drove down in July and did not have any problems at the Spanish border other than one or two people having passport checks, there was not a great queue, just a slow trickle through.

Been over 3 times since the "New information sharing scheme" and even at the airports nobody seems to know anything.  Happy days I guess?
