Title: A Suspicious Visit To My Finca Please Read !!! Post by William of Orange on Jan 12th, 2009 at 10:09pm
Hi Moderators or Nigel Please edit as you wish but the following information is accurate and I ask that you allow your members to make of as they wish.
About 1600 hours today (4 oclock) whlts working outside our house with my son I had a unusual visitor, a Silver Toyota Landcruiser turned on to our property travelling faster than our few friends approach. It pulled opposite us,, with two white male occupants approx 35/40yrs old slimbuild the driver taller than the passenger . Were were greeted with Hola I smiled back with a grin as they were obviously english with a right hand drive vehicle registration number PK56PKN or something similar PK56 being correct PKN or something close. The passenger said Oh your english He then said something akin to Hi were in the area doing some asphalting we called in at the restauraunt ( some 50 meters from us) to see if we can do some for them and they said no thanks but our neighbour is english and there doing some building work call in. So do you need your track Asphalting. I declined and asked if they were part of the crew widening the Ulldecona Tortoas T331 which has just commenced and they replied No were working on a property 7/8 km towards Tortosa. They left as quick as they arrived. Points to note. The Restauraunt is closed on Mondays (today) so they lied What is an english crew trying to flog Asphalt (Tarmac) in Spain,,,,,, My building work can be seen from the main road and I havea large solar array viewable from the main road. We have two large Akita Dogs who were in the house at the time due to cold weather they are now back on guard duty. (they dont know it yet ) Make of it as you will but pikeys come to mind and stock crap answer when surprised by home owners being home PS My lad seemed to think the windscreen was cracked and the passenger front window was smashed Woo |

As always, be vigilant and don't tell anyone your movements - you never know who might be listening!
There have been a huge number of burglaries and even repeat burglaries in the campo in the last couple of months. Presumably with so little work some are turning to theft as a profession. Many seem to be within hours of the owner leaving for holiday/whatever. Nigel |

Sorry to hear about your visit Woo.
Folowing Nigel's comments it could be an interesting exercise to spread and untrue rumour about someone going to be away from their highly protected property for a while and wait to see what happens. But then again that could possibly bring more problems by drawing attention to a desirable property. Any thoughts ? |

We could start a list of volunteers.
Who has the biggest gun, dog, steepest baranc (for them to accidently fall off) etc. I checked that registration and it is actually insured, so its either the wrong number, false plates or they arent 'real' pikeys |

Hi Woo
a quick internet check on that plate says that it is a Mercedes Viano Cdi2.2 Amb Long A (MPV), so if that is the plate you saw then it is definitely dodgy regards, Haze and Alan |

Caught someone breaking into my neighbours casa yesterday morning; The reason he gave was that he had no money for food and he was hungry, but I still do not think that was a good enough excuse to break-in. Mossos arrived in about half an hour and were very helpful. The guy is white, very bald wearing glasses, 5ft-9"wearing the usual jeans and T-shirt, speaks english with a Dutch or German accent, 40-50ish. This happened just outside Perello village, the person is local, as I had seen him about, just wonder how many more he has hit. Porridge anyone!!
