We are also in that village, we did not leave our brains at the airport like a lot of people think.  We bought off an Agent that was born and bred in the village, not someone that was going to disappear overnight, we did not ask the man behind the bar if it was ok to build we got permission from the Mayor (who is the Catalan government representative) we were told that what the agent was telling us was all correct.  The agent even walked the land and suggested where the best place on the land to build a HOUSE not a barn. If they had explained that we could only get a licence for a barn they naturally we would not have bought the land but that would have been no comission for him.  I believe they are still telling everyone that by the end of the year all will be well in the village as the ex Mayor will again be in office and land sales etc will be up and running again!!!!!!!  But if you check the local Ajuntament posting on the internet you will see they are still cancelling peoples licences that were issued by the previous mayor.  It would be internesting to know just how many thousand euros of Brits money has gone into that village, have you noticed over the years how many locals have new vehicles and renovated houses.
