hi everyone, hope you all had a good christmas
one of the things i have to sort when i come over in February is a fridge with a small freezer, i have read a few articless on fridges and solar power, is it feasiblee to run a fridge freezer on solar power or do i have to get a propane one which as far as i know do use a lot of propane, we only have a small set up at present but i am looking for a bigger inverter i have seen a 1500 watt inverter that i am interested in would this be suitable cheers dave |

Hi.
I'd go for the electric one. We got a gas fridge when we first moved over here as we only had the jenny, but when we got solar panels (6panels) we changed to electric and are now running 2 half and half fridge freezers on solar |

As long as you have a decent solar set up and buy an A+ or A++ fridge freezer, you should hardly notice the consumption |

Just make ABSOLUTELY sure the inverter is PURE SINEWAVE else you'll see a puff of smoke from your fridge, possibly hear a bang and it will stop working - possibly in as few as 30 seconds or less....
