Growing you own food becomes more attractive all the time.

Link doesn't work :(
But I have been growing my food now for several years as we all should who live in the campo.
I am expanding into my own pork and goat meat as well as chicken turkey and duck.
I only grow non GMO vegetables and can now grow enough to feed all my birds and animals.
Miniature cow next  ;D
Can't stand goats cheese and can't find the way to milk a pig  >:(
If you have land , grow it yourself (and its cheaper)
Having donkeys helps to clear the land and of course everything is organic
Always willing to share my knowledge, little that I have   ;)

Link doesn't work for me either.

Growing your own food has always been an attractive option.  Just about everyone in our village grows stuff and then swap or just give away surpluses. We will be starting properly next year.

Growing your own food is the ONLY way forward, and one of the reasons we came out here in the first place.

On an economic level, it is cheaper than buying store-bought veg and may well be vital for survival should the crisis ever really hit.
You also need to earn less money if you are growing your own food. On a national scale, countries should become far more independent for their own food. The recent pack of chickpeas I bought comes from Argentina - how does that make economic sense? Forget about increasing exports, put your own house in order and reduce food imports.

You also get to appreciate seasons - cardboard tomatoes in December - no thank you. The first broad beans in the spring - superb, and better than any frozen product.

From a health point of view, there is no crap sprayed on our veg. Have you ever looked at the ramifications of GMO’s - there is some pretty deadly sh!t in there.  :o

Have you ever looked at what goes into the food you buy in the supermarket?

Go and get a packet of salt and read the ingredients. Here in Spain it will say Salt & an anti-caking product E-536 or similar. This anti-caking agent is Potassium Ferrocyanide - sounds healthy, doncha think!  :P

We give away and bottle our surplus. We receive more back than we could grow (can never get an orange tree to bear fruit), and it not much more work to plant 30 courgettes rather than 10.

Get organised guys ‘n gals - dig for victory and stop serving yourselves crap. You might regain your tastebuds.

Rant over

Sorry about the link, I should have checked it.
The more of your own food you grow, safer/better quality,
financially better, leaves you freer from those want to exploit by just slapping on charges and taxes as they feel like it.  :)
