Title: Amazon.co.uk free deliveries to Spain stopped last
Post by jools on Jun 19th, 2013 at 9:18pm
Because of long working hours I use Amazon a lot purely for the convenience of not having to go shopping. I usually have a delivery every couple of weeks, and it's free delivery.

I also buy gift vouchers for friends and family at Christmas/Birthdays etc

Today I was trying to place an order, only around £65, but qualifies for free delivery on anything over £25, and their system wouldn't let me complete the purchase.

I clicked on the online help button and was connected to a very helpful customer service rep, only to be told that they  stopped free delivery to Spain on the 13th June 2013 to encourage us all to use their Amazon.es website.

Apart from it being in Spanish (which doesn't bother me) I explained that the selection of goods was no where near as good, and that I buy lots of DVD's which often change the title to something completely different in Spanish, apart from not knowing if it's in English anyway, and that the prices are much more expensive.

Received 2 emails later this afternoon, from said CS rep, explaining that she would pass on my comments to the powers that be, and a button at the bottom of the email asking if she had solved my problem.

Well, hell no, because you are not going to reinstate free delivery, but you are going to lose a very good customer who spends on average £3000 per year, I wonder how many other ex-pats this will affect?

Please get on to them if you are one of them.
