anybody has done the process of registering in Spain a vehicle from the UK?

if so, how much was it? what steps did you follow?

Depends on age/value of the car.

It would be worth using the services of someone who does this for a living and is totally au fait with the system. There are so many forms to complete at different offices and so many hoops to jump through that is it is quite difficult to understand. Also, if your Spanish/Catalan is not great then you will have more delay. I have recently re-matriculated my Mercedes from UK to Spanish registration and it took about a month using the services of a gestor. I used an English guy called Robin Williams, phone 636104592, and he was great. The whole process (including import tax of some �350 because the original cost price of the car was high) cost around �850 including Robin�s fee. I did want to do it myself but really, life is too short and Robin does this all the time.

Remember to add the cost of new headlights which will be needed for the car to pass the ITV test. (Unless you can adjust them)

I have used Maxine & Polly of Perello properties a couple of times for this. The total price varies with the book valuie of the vehicle, but their charge was about �100 or 150 (not sure) all the other costs were ordained.

And the hazard and reversing light clusters on most.

We re-registered our car some years ago now.� We didn't have to change the headlights, but put stickers /headlight beam converters on the outside of them which are acceptable here.� The car has passed the ITV several times without any problems.�

Yes we did the same with our headlights put stickers on them and passed ITV.
Can't speak highly enough of Robin. First rate chap did us a good job. :)

+1 from the stickers - just put some new ones on (�5) and passed my ITV (the car that is, I wouldn't pass anything)

Reversing light and front headlight bulbs replaced and good to go for another two years
