Castellon Airport

Has anyone used Castellon yet ? Just wondering what the hike is like from the plane to the terminal as I have two cr*p knees.

Car hire booked for Jan via Goldcar but still expensive compared to Spring / Autumn prices excluding the €40 euro charge for returning to Reus Airport.

In answer to your question..........

Castellon airport is CR#P.   IMHO.

I booked in advance (2 return flights)as thought it would
be a better bet than Girona, how wrong I was.
Facilities almost none, only one coffee machine that was
inoperative and a soft drinks machine available.

I'm not impressed with Ryanairs' Maintenance Facility
either, reports, flight back to the UK had a 6 hour delay
because no engineer was available to fix the aircraft, and
that passengers had no food or drinks available to them until airport staff went to a local store (not sure how far that was) to purchase sandwiches and drinks.

I'd also check on car parking charges, I was told it would be
expensive, there were no charges when I used the facility as
the airport didn't have any barriers or means to charge people
for parking.

I don't think it's a patch on Reus, El Prat or Girona.

So to sum up, it's a shambles.

To answer the question originally asked it shouldn't be far from plane to terminal as there won't be many planes there (possibly due to the issues raised by Robin) so your stand will almost certainly be close.  There are elevators etc. so you shouldn't be forced into using stairs.

Castellon airport... it's the gift that just keeps on giving - if you are a comedian in need of material.

Thanks Michael. Was hoping that it wasn't as far as Reus used to be when the "new" departures was open. As I am only flying in I won't worry about Robin_B's comments.

I've just been on Ryanair site and apparently now no flights to and from Bristol to castellon any more! I used it once and yes it's a shambles, especially if you need assistance with wheelchair. I do wonder why the schedule has changed/disappeared tho!
