LPG Cookers

We will be updating our kitchen soon, & want to replace the very basic cooker. We are totally off grid, so need an LPG one. Our designers suggested that they don't do gas ovens in Spain or maybe it was they don't do LPG ones, so what are the rest of you cooking on? Smiley we were looking at built in ones.
If push comes to shove, I can get on in the UK & bring it over, but would rather not.
If there is choice, what's a good brand?
My preference would be for an induction hob, would this be too much for the 24v solar system? I'm hoping not, cos I hate cleaning gas hobs!Smiley
Cheers

Paula,
we have been round this route recently. We could not find a 600mm built-in gas oven anywhere in Spain. Gas ovens are a rarity anywhere now and when you want LPG it's even harder. We got one over from the UK in the end. Make sure that you get one with a fan and a real thermostatic temperature control. As a tip... look on ebay for conversion jets, they are cheap and if you work backwards from the available LPG jets you might find an oven with standard jets for conversion at a decent price. It aint easy!  Undecided

I suggest you buy the LPG gas cooker and or oven from the UK. Get the man with a van to bring it over.
Did I understand that you are considering using an electric hob powered by solar ?
Having lived off grid for 15 years I suggest you forget that idea and use LPG. A microwave is OK - a low power one anyway

Confort Electrodomesticos sell built in butano ovens, you can find them in Vinaros, Amposta and Tortosa, probably in other towns.

thanks very much for the help, will look for an oven over in the UK & a hob in spain - unless I end up with a freestanding.

shame about not being able to go with an induction hob Cry
